Last night… ok this morning at 12:30 My time, yours truly was Interviewed by the Dastardly Duo of Bre and Fim from the Twisted Nether Blogcast. In the first of their new format, LIVE interviews I had an audience. A few folk I know from the BA chat room were in attendance heckling me and tossing out questions and comments.

All I can really say is I had a great time and can’t wait to be invited back again. The Show should be available on the Twisted Nether website and iTunes some time early next week, so I suggest you check it out.

Thanks Bre and Thanks Fim. you made it fun, and I wasn’t nearly as nervous as I thought I might be, even though I did talk alot. As one of my favorite singers once said, “I know, I’m a talking son of a bitch aren’t I? I just talk your ass off. But I’m actually not a son of a bitch because my mom is my faaaaaavorite person in the world.”

Thursday night I decided to continue my Achievement Instancing, and hit up Blackfathom Depths, Shadowfang Keep, The Deadmines, Stockades, and Gnomer. Then Last night, I hit up The Scarlet Monestery and UBRS. It was really fun, and the UBRS thing took me 4 tries before I finally got my FIRST title ever on Maerrakech. Maerrakech Jenkins. Has a nice ring to it.

Below is a screenshot from each Instance Clear.

Last night for the first time in a long time, I logged into WoW with a purpose other than raiding, leveling, or farming.

I logged in with the sole intention of BOOMing my way through Old School Instances to get achievements. So, the first thing I did was go respec Boomkek. (should have thought out the spec better. Moonkin Tanking without Brambles is silly) the second thing I did was head to Org. RFC was funny as hell. I didn’t cast a single spell until the very end of the instance. Everything was already dead other than the elementals, which were immune to thorns’ nature damage. A quick bout of Moonfire spam later, and the instance was dead. I want to try it again without thorns, and see if I can get every mob in the place on me before I Hurricane… Oh it’ll be fun!

So, after I cleared that place out, I realized I already had that achievement from before, so I ran to WC. Ran through there owning stuff with thorns, while watching Anchorman on DVD. It really made for a Confused Owlbear. I have never liked that instance it’s too big for it’s… age.

Next, I ran down to RFD and RFK, owned them both using the same tactic, but there was more Typhoon and Hurricane action in RFD. I wish I had screenshots of some of the mass carnage, but I forgot to snap them. Though I know I have Boss kill Screenies and Achievement Screenies at home. I may upload them once I get back.

Tonight, It looks like I’ll be running BFD, then heading over to Silvermoon to start SFK, then it’s Deadmines, and a suicide run to Stormwind Stockades. After that, if I have time, I’ll head to Gnomer… But I doubt I’ll want to start Gnomer after all of that. Tomorrow’s post should have Screenies!

Maerrakech has found a home, but feel free to read through my answers here for reference to what at least one blogger says is how an application should be done.

Due to an unfortunate Guild Breakdown, Maerrakech is now looking for a new home. So, why am I telling you, Internet? I am telling you because you might know of a place I may find a new home. You see, I have been An officer in a Leveling Guild. I’ve been an officer of a Casual guild, I’ve been an officer in a Raiding Guild, and I’ve gone back and done all of that again. I’ve been there, and I’ve done it, and with the loss of my family and friends who kept me there, I am looking for a new home, and I doubt that it’s with any of the guilds on my current server. I don’t know why I feel this way, but I just do.

You See. I want to raid. I want to be a grunt. I want to be the guy who takes his assignment and does it to the best of his ability. I want to be the new guy. I want to be the healer you never knew you were missing until I showed up. Now, that’s not saying that I think I’m the best healer in the world. Or that I’m better than any of your current healers even, It just means That is my aspiration.

For the basis of my Guild Application disguised as Blog post, I will be taking bits and pieces of different guild applications I found on a brief search of the Plus Heal Healers Exchange forum. The main chunk of my post was taken from Matticus’ Guild, Conquest. I chose this guild’s application because I felt it was very thorough and it asked the questions I would tend to ask of an applicant. Though, I didn’t use ALL of their questions, and I added others from elsewhere.

Main character (include class and spec): Maerrakech: Tauren Resto Druid
Link to Armory: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Maelstrom&n=Maerrakech
Alts (include class and spec): Fohrbin 67 Ret Pally, Maerdred 60Enh Sham
Real First Name: Keith
Age: 30
Location: NH, USA

Detail the WoW guilds you have been in (Server, Guild, Length of Time) and the reasons why you left those guilds.
Balnazzar(US) <Raging Daisies> I was a member and officer from August 2006 to June 2008 when I officially left to Raid with my family, as RD was unable to fill 25’s any longer due to losing too many core raiders.

Maelstrom(US)<Kohrruption> Member from March 08 Officer since June 08. Current member/officer. Again, the guild lost too many raiders and the GM stepped down, killing all chance of raiding.

Previous raiding experience in WoW.
I’ve been a raid healer for 3 years, Starting with ZG and MC in Vanilla wow, My Ally guild raided Kara to BT in BC and I switched to my current main, a Tauren Druid. I raided in Kara, ZA, Gruuls, and Mag during BC. Once Wrath hit, I’ve been raiding in OS and Naxx in both 10 and 25-man instances weekly. Full clearing 10’s and Up to Thaddius in 25’s.

Pleas tell us about any previous leadership experience in WoW.
I’ve been an officer in two separate Raiding guilds, In both I’ve filled any role that was needed as either a class leader, a healing coordinator, morale officer, raid leader, CoGM…

What do you want out of your playing time?
I play the game to have fun. Raiding, with the right people, is fun to me. I raid to see the content, and to help my friends and guildies better their characters with gear upgrades. I enjoy leveling alts and questing as well, and realize that raiding is not a job, nor should it be.

What is your availability for raids?
My raiding availability would range from 6:30 – 12:00 EST. End times are flexible, but I would rather not go much past that time slot. I am available to raid at least 4 nights a week at these times.

Please describe your computer/Internet setup and indicate whether you tend to have lag or connectivity issues.
I built my PC from scratch this past January and it performs well in all raid instances, averaging 60 frames per second. My Internet connection is Cable, and it is very stable.

Are you willing to occupy a bench slot (on line and still available to sub in) when needed?
I would not expect anything more from your guild, as a new recruit. I am not here to steal anyone’s position, and would be glad for any opportunity to raid and help the guild.

In your opinion, what do skilled players of your class and spec contribute to 25-man raiding?
Druids are possibly the most prolific healers in the game at this moment. While Our hots mitigate damage taken, our large direct heals are very good for spike damage. Our AOE heals are very powerful when used correctly and when all of these tools are used in conjunction a skilled Druid healer can perform the tasks of Tank and Raid healing effectively at the same time. There are not many other healers who can say the same. We cannot do it all alone, but we can fill any role at any time during an encounter. I feel their flexibility is their biggest strength.

What do you, as an individual, bring to raids that distinguishes you from average players? Here’s your chance to convince us that we need YOU for our team.
With my experience as a healer, I have seen almost every fight there is in this game. I have been able to learn each situation and adapt accordingly. In my previous guild I was one of four regular healers and have experience 4-healing most of Naxx25 to draw on. I feel this has added to my value, as it taught me to adapt and react quickly, as I didn’t have a large number of healers to fall back upon when the proverbial shit hit the fan.

What mods do you use, and why do you like them?
Specific to raiding, Grid has been a very useful raid frame, as I can see everything I need to know about each character in a small 5×5 square on my screen. Decursive has made my job removing poisons and curses almost trivial. Deadly Bossmods. Enough said. Omen hasn’t been needed as much as it used to, but I do like to see if I am closing in on threat while AOE Healing, or just as a fight is beginning.

What websites you usually visit to gather WoW information?

Good Question. Wowwiki, Wowhead, Elitist Jerks forums, Plus Heal forums, Tankspot, WowInsider, Just about every blog listed at wiki.Twistednether.net
