Are you like me? Do you look back in fondness for MC and wish the game could be simple like that again? Do you remember the first time that you went to MC and you got a whisper telling you that you were the Bomb? Do you want to get back to those times? Have you never even set foot into MC or ZG or AQ20? Did you start playing during TBC or Wrath and have no idea what I’m talking about? If any of this is the case, I have a possible solution…

This is a bit far fetched, but I think we could make it work. But it’s not as simple as running MC with 5 80′s. it’s not the same as soloing ZG. What I want to propose is radical and game changing. What I propose is that Blizzard let us choose whether to level past 60, or even 70. It would take some work on their part, Sure, but what doesn’t? How would they make this work you may ask?

Offer a quest at each main City where a character may go through some rite of passage to allow their experience gains to be nullified. With a follow-up quest of some sort to stop the effect. This would only be available to players of level 60 who have gained less than 10% of their next level. The initial quest would place a buff on the player which would cause all experience gains to be nullified. This is similar to the Account Bind gear which is sold in Dalaran which raises EXP gains by a certain percent.

I’m still fleshing out the idea, but I think it’s got potential. Let’s work on it together. I want to hear your ideas! Would you start an alt just to get it to 60 so you could raid the old content again, or for the first time for new players? Would you finish leveling that level 42 hunter you’ve got on a shelf just for the fun of it? Would you start a DK and stop it at 60 and see how OP you’d be in AQ40? That opens up a whole new bag of worms. there’s no DK gear in these instances.  See. It’s still a work in progress…

Last night the Unemployed crew kept being the victim of SSTSHBFSRDWWOOOC. Or, Stupid shit that shouldn’t happen but for some reason did, which was out of our control.

Each time I thought we had a fight down, something stupid would happen. Adds would pull out of Concecrate AND Death and Decay and head straight for a healer or two, or perhaps someone got Disconnected, or perhaps blue flame might appear under the Tree’s feet, just after the tree had accidentally hit the “r” key instead of the “e” key and for some reason the tree missed the “Esc” key four or five times before using his mouse to move out of the way, and while he was casting nourish on himself, perhaps the adds that were attacking the tank which the Tree was healing might have picked that exact moment to chain lightning, killing the tree, and thus leaving that tank one healer down, thus taxing the other healer enough that he or she might possibly have pulled healing agro off a newly spawned add, and that healer, while trying to heal the tank and him or herself, with an add smacking the crap out of him or her, well that healer died too. All because a proverbial tree might have accidentally allegedly pushed the damn “r” key, and thus wiped a raid faster than an enraged Patchwerk…

In other, completely unrelated news. The next person to whisper me on a raid night gets to die in a fire.

Last night we went into Ulduar 25 with a plan. Oh, and 25 Raiders! We had a plan. Tanks had assignments spelled out for them. DPS had assignments. Healers had assignments.

For the first time, in what seems like a long time, All of the healers did what they were told to do, and when it synced up, we had killed XT, Kologarn and Auriaya or however you spell those names. We wiped a few times learning the differences between 10-man and 25-man. But we all knew the fights and knew pretty much what to expect.

The best part of it was, I looked at the healing meters and didn’t care that I wasn’t #1. You know who was? the person who should have been. The AOE healer. It was his job. My job? Heal a tank, and the raid when I can. Or maybe it was heal this tank, and this other tank, and heal the raid when I can. Or maybe it was heal this tank.
What did I do? I did what I was told to do, and my healing targets didn’t die. I didn’t die. The Raid didn’t wipe(because of me at least). On actual wipes I was one of the few left standing, and I take great pride in this. My tank and me were left up at the end of 2 of our Kologarn wipes. My tank was up after she had called for a wipe and I died because I had been doing my job and my HoTs were ticking away. In fact, on each of our wipes, I believe my healing target was the last target to die.

How can I care that a Holy Priest and a Resto Shaman beat me on the Healing meters? I did MY job. That’s what counts. Who cares what Recount or WWS says? I did my job!

Last night a few brave souls from Unemployed took our opportunity to have a second night of fun in Ulduar and while it was a great time, it ended with Barlo going on a Spidery rampage and taking out our Main Tank!

That’s how I remember it at least. I’ll let the screenshot speak for itself…

Holy Shit I'm a Spider!

As usual, Click for the full Shot. If that’s not depicting exactly what I just described, I don’t know what it is! But I digress.

What we had done before this unfortunate incident was T8 Glovesfar more telling, and it involved two firsts for me and some others, as well as a guild first! First, we had previously cleared up to the keepers, so we decided to start with Freya and took two tries on her to get her down for my first kill. Which was great! The fight itself was rather hectic on our first try with people not really understanding all of the adds and how things worked. there was quite a bit of splash damage to deal with and our healers were a bit taxed. When we wiped it was due to there being too much trash up and losing too many people. so we tried again, and after one attempt we got our shit together and just owned it! She went down pretty quickly, and sadly I do not have a killshot which shows the time, but I think it was pretty quick. All in all it was a great fight, and it won me my first piece of Tier 8 loot, which I sadly won’t even be equipping, due to the awesomeness of the 4pc T7 set bonus, and my lack of a T7 helm. But Needless to say, I loved getting them. Loot is always fun and getting new loot means we made Progression! and that’s what raiding is all about, right? Loot and Progression? Yeah, that’s what I thought.

So, after Freya we decided to stop by and give Thorim a visit. That was a blast! after what seemed like 20 tries, but was probably something like 7, we got him down and got a nice shiny new achievement to go along with it!

Thorim

Guild first, Maerr first. It was a blast! On some of our attempts healing was so frantic that I was wondering how it would be possible to do without the HoTs that I can throw out, but we did it and we got him down and soon after, Barlo the Spider was pwning the raid… What a traitor!

So, It’s Tuesday here in the US of A and we all know that means maintenance for WoW. What do you do to cure the boredom of not being able to play WoW? I’ll tell you what I’m about to do. I’m about to listen to the Twisted Nether Blogcast Episode 42. That’s right. The Hexagonal(Heptagonal, actually) table discussion featuring Yours truly has been released for mass consumption.

Granted, I WAS there, and already heard all that was said, but It’s Tuesday and I am bored. I’ll listen again! You should too. Not just because I was on it. Heck not EVEN because I was on it, but listen because Runy and Anna and Hydra and Lassirra were on it. These ladies and I had a great time talking with Fimlys and Nibuca, so I think you should take a listen!

Go. Download. Listen. Comment.

What, you’re still here? Go.

Now!

Ok. now that they’re gone, you and I can have that talk we’ve been meaning to have. You see, I know why you’re still here, Why you haven’t gone to download the Blogcast. I know, and the thing is, I have those feelings too. But it’s not meant to be. You see… Go Download the damn thing already! Jeeeeze
