I will never start a PUG raid group for anything. I won’t do it. I just don’t enjoy being in charge of that aspect of the game. I don’t want to be that leader guy. I am not a group leader. I don’t want to do it. It’s not that I don’t know how. or that I am not good at it. I’m the balls when I want to lead something. I just never want to do it.

What I will do is sit my butt in LFG and spam my butt off that I’m a healer looking for a heroic.  I have do a couple rules.

1. I will not accept an invite without first being whispered, or speaking to the person in LFG or Trade.

2. I will drop group within 10 minutes if there is no tank, unless I’m herbing or fishing and could really give a damn.

That’s all. Two simple rules.

I’ve become more Pug-savvy with Maer, mainly because I have  crap gear and need to pug to get the emblems. That said. I will still never start a group. I’m not your leader. I’m no longer a Guild Officer. I’m no longer a Raid assistant. I’m just a guy. Someone else can do that part. I’ll give pro-heals. Someone elsa can lead.

Last week, I posted about the Raid for the Cure, and the time for the raid is almost upon us! I just wanted to post this as a reminder for folks who may have let it slip past them, though I’m not sure how you could. BBB has posted about it numerous times, and Mike Schramm has even posted about it a couple times at WoW.com! Thanks for getting the word out Mike!

As a refresher, I’ll let you in on how it’s going to work.

Where: Kael’thas(US) server

When: November 14th, 2:00PM Server time(CST)

Why: To show our support for Julie, and the Susan G. Komen for the Cure charity. Don’t forget to donate so you’ll be entered into the Raffle!(See BBB’s Blog for details on the Raffle!)

What: Cross-Faction march across the world of Azeroth With Multiple Starting points and a Final Destination of Booty Bay.

So tell your friends, Bring your favorite Pink Mageweave shirt(or we’ll supply you with one, while supplies last) Festive Pink Dress, Pink Elekk or anything else Pink you can think of. Be sure to check on BBB’s blog for final updates, and don’t be afraid to log in early, and join us in the “RaidFortheCure” chat channel!

The Alliance March will start in Shadowglen, and the Horde will be starting at Camp Narache. We’ll be meeting at the Crossroads for a NonPartisan March to Ratchet so we can get on the Boat to Booty Bay, where there will be a Dance Party for any who wish to hang out.

If you’re not aware, Azeroth United has teamed up with Childs Play Charity to create Hearts, Hands and Voices for Child’s Play Charity. They are well on their way to their goal of collecting $5,000 for the Charity. And I decided I could do something to help! Three somethings actually. No. Four! Wait, Six!

First. I have donated my voice to help get the word out. There’s an Mp3 which has my voice in it over on the AU site now. Here’s a link directly to it.

Next, I added the Promotional Banner to my sidebar. Look, it’s Clickable!

Third, I added the ChipIn widget to the Sidebar so you can click directly on that and donate!

Fourth? Well, I’ll tell you. I’m Donating two prizes for the Helping Hands Giveaway. For those not in the know, as a Thank you for anyone who donates $20 or more they will be entered into the Drawing for a prize package chock full of donated prizes. Including a Warcraft Stein from 3point.com, a  Steel Series World of Warcraft Gaming Mouse from the Raid Warning Podcast, a 60-day World of Warcraft Game Card from the Rawrcast, a 30-day World of Warcraft Game Card and 2009 Blizzcon Authenticator from Sideshow and Syrana, and Plenty more! The prizes I donated are One Lil KT and One Pandaren Monk Mini Pet from the Blizzard Online Pet Store.

It seems that this week, I don’t feel like playing the game at all. Fohrbin had been farming Stormwind rep and is pretty much done with that. Unless, of course Darkshire quests give SW rep.

Maerdred decided to finally grind CC rep. I was friendly with them from doing AQ20 a few times back in my RD days, so I hit honored pretty fast and with all the quests I got to revered very fast. In two nights of grinding Twilight Cultists I’ve gotten 53% through Revered. So I see two more long boring nights of that coming my way. Yay… I don’t want to do it.

I SHOULD be running heroics but I still don’t feel quite comfortable in my own skin, with the new realm and the new guild, so I’m reluctant to do so. I did get a PUG HToC5 together the other day and after 3 tries we got the Black Knight Down. The first two wipes were my fault, as I had never run that place Heroic before. But I figure, If I can heal that, I can heal any Heroic out there with my current gear.

So, who knows. Tonight is an U10 raid that I signed up for even though I’m under geared, If I don’t get picked, it’s back to Silithus. If I do, It’s hope the gear isn’t too much of a downer. We’ll figure it out. I just need to find my footing and see how I fit in when I actually want to pay. As for most of this week so far I’ve been in a pretty blah mood about the game. Spending more time with my family and such. (though I was pretty annoyed with them for most of the week to)

Over on the PTR they have updated the patch notes for 3.3 yet again. You already know this. You read other WoW sites. So why am I writing about it? Commentary people! Commentary.

There’s an interesting point on meeting stones in there. Take a look:

  • Meeting Stones: To use any Meeting Stone, it is only required that the character’s minimum level be 15. There is no maximum character level requirement for any Meeting Stone.

What does this mean for the player? It means that Quick runs of the low level instances will be made easier. I know we’ve all been there, you’re level 15 and want to go to the Deadmines, you find 2 other people who want to go, but nobody else leveling in that level range wants to go. You  have a friend who’s 80, online, and bored. “Hey Joe, wanna run us through Deadmines? I need the Defias set for this Rogue” So, Joe starts the long trek from wherever he was to you. You think to summon him, but there’s a level requirement for the stone, and Joe’s too high.

Or, maybe you’ve got 3 people ready to do the Headless Horseman and find 2 more in the guild who will have to hearth back to Dalaran, Port to Irinforge, Fly to Chillwind Camp and Run up to SM. That takes quite some time.

Maybe you want to get you old-world raid on, and decide to head into MC. People straggle along and take forever. For some odd reason you have no Warlocks. Well you just have to wait.

Well, now you won’t. Now you’ll be able to use that Meeting stone because the Max level restriction has been taken off.

I think it’s a welcome change for anyone who’s ever had to wait 10 minutes for that Rogue to finish WG, fly to Dalaran, port to Stormwind by mistake, and then fly to Southshore for the Headless Horseman. And yes, that has happened to me. Twice. It was the same Rogue. Two Days in a row. Luckly it was not someone in my guild.

Late last month a member of Maerdred’s World of Warcraft guild revealed to us that she had been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Her first treatment is scheduled to begin on November 9th. October was Breast Cancer Awareness month, and the sad irony of her diagnosis falling within that month is not lost on any of us.

Raid foe the cure

To show our support, with her permission of course, our intrepid Guild leader and resident Big Bear Butt, has put together a Cross Faction Raid for the Cure. On Saturday, November 14th we will be sponsoring a cross-faction March across the Planet of Azeroth. Teams from both Factions will meet and march united in their support of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure charity. More details can be found here on Big Bear Butt’s blog, and remember, Wear Pink!
