If so, Stop it! Seriously. Get it out of my raid. Seriously.

Remember a few months ago I posted my Raiding Pet Peeves? I think I forgot one. I went on at length about people other than the raid leader calling things out. A new one that’s come to my attention more recently is this “I need buffs! Give me buffs! Now! Do it! Now!” attitude from some people.

So, what bugs me most about it? Well that’s hard to say. It may be the implication that the Buff givers aren’t planning on giving out their buffs. The Implication that they’re not doing their job, or planning to do their job. See, as a Druid, I come equipped with Gift of the Wild. Before each and every boss encounter, and some trash encounters, I will buff the entire raid. It’s what I do. It’s part of my pre-boss ritual, so to speak. To pipe up in vent or raid chat that you don’t have the buff tells me that you think I don’t know how to do my job. Do you think I know how to do my job? Well then STFU.

This buff takes a Reagent, which I have to provide or I cannot give the buff. Reagents take up a slot in my bag. I generally start a raid with 20, and unless it’s a wipefest, I never have to worry about running out. Paladins, Priests, Mages.. They all have buffs which require Reagents as well. Pretty much every Raid-Wide Hour-Long(or 30-minute long) buff that you get has some sort of reagent cost attached do it, unless there’s a glyph which removes that cost. And I’m not sure that there are many of those Glyphs out there at all.

So. Where was I going on this? Oh right. Reagents. Paladins give buffs based on class, not the whole raid. So, in a raid with 9 classes, each paladin has to use 9 reagents each time they rebuff. This means they’re probably going to WAIT UNTIL EVERYONE’S THERE! Right? Yeah… So when I see a DK begging for might while he’s the only DK of 4 that’s in the room, I get kind of peeved. Calm down skippy. We’re not pulling yet. You’re not even eating yet for Elune’s sake. When we’re all here, when we’re all just about ready to roll out and kick some Boss ass, the paladin will buff you with Might. He will not buff you with might before the rest of the DK’s are here. Why? He’s not stupid. That’s why.

I’ve trained my guildies to shush up about GoW because I refuse to spend extra money on people who aren’t within range of me. Every time I cast GoW, I lose 50s. If I have to recast it because of someone screwing it up, they’ve cost me 1g. It really adds up over the course of a progression night. I never run out of reagents (40 on me at all times) but the cost can be annoying.

Probably the best way to flatter your healers/buffers and show them how much you care is to send them a stack of reagents. It’s a nice gesture :)

I only complain when the final ready check is going out. That means we are about to run into the room, guns blazing, and if I’m missing a buff at that point it needs to be known because there is no reason to start a boss fight without every possible advantage.

But generally it’s not an issue. (I don’t remember ever having to ask for GoW when you’re around, Maer!) I love the BuffEnough addon, but I very rarely use the report feature. I wish they would make it harder to report, in fact… I’ve done it accidentally a few too many times when trying to access the options menu (right-clicking the addon does an announce, I think).

I hate the BuffEnough reports, HATE them. The only time I would think it would be ok to report to the raid was, like brajana said, after the ready-to-pull check goes out. At which point, you should click ‘NO’ on the ready-check and report BuffEnough to the raid.

    But that’s just me

The raid reports are just annoying, but I like the whispers i get from Tiger when i forgot to flask up! :)
Missing a flask or 2 elixirs…. not when I got Tiger on my side!

I do like the fact that I dont have raid buffs to worry about, well at least until they do change the totems to buff spells. I already have 2 weapon imbues, a shield and the totems to care about!
